The most recent issue of Panorama: The Journal of Travel, Place, and Nature, explores the mystery of more than human encounter in its many forms—one of which is celebrated in “The Butterfly Effect.”

We often center on the question of what might have happened if we had encountered a different person, at a different time, at a different stage of life, but the question is most magical and pressing when we are compelled to ask it in the face of our most amazing encounters in nature.  “The Butterfly Effect,” published in the Encounter issue of Panorama, recounts one of these encounters.
