"Bosco Sacro" Published in Rooted Two

First protected by a rule of law called the Lux Spoletina, the Bosco Sacro, or Sacred Wood, of Umbria, has been a forest conservancy for about five thousand years. Writing about this sacred forest magnified the delights of meandering through it during a pilgrimage taken along the Via Francesco in 2022.

Sharing the essay in the anthology Rooted Two: The Best New Aroboreal Nonfiction magnifies the delight even more.

Even after five millennia, the Bosco Sacro still comes alive in the firelight of late day.
